My whole family loves Sloppy Joe sandwiches. They are an easy dinner that everyone will eat, even the pickiest child. I like to mix it up and add new ingredients every once in awhile just for a change. After I made this combination my oldest son said it tasted like meatloaf. So now the kids request the meatloaf sloppy joe sandwiches!
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, diced
6 T Worcestershire sauce
2 cans (8oz each) tomato sauce
1 cup ketchup
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
3 tsp yellow mustard
Burger buns
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef with onions & bell pepper; drain.
2. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.
3. Pour into crockpot and cook on LOW for 2 hours.
4. Top each half of burger bun with sloppy joe mix.
Unlike a traditional sloppy joe sandwich, this one is pretty juicy and definitely needed to be eaten with a fork. I made our sandwiches open faced and it seemed to work better.
