Once I find a recipe that my kids love I try to find a bunch of different ways to change it up, which is why I end up making so many combinations of tater tot casserole. Everyone in the house loves tater tots! And who doesn’t love bacon? I think bacon should be a food group so I’ll take any chance I have to include it in a recipe.
Ingredients:
2 lbs ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 cup ketchup
4 Tbsp yellow mustard
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 box Oscar Meyer Ready to serve bacon slices
1 bag frozen crispy crown tater tots
Directions:
1. Cook ground beef with onions; drain fat.
2. Cook bacon slices in microwave until crispy (I do 45 seconds for 5 slices) & crumble.
3. Stir ketchup and mustard into ground beef.
4. Spread mixture into 13×9 baking dish sprayed with cooking spray.
5. Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top & cover with shredded cheese.
6. Top with layer of tater tots.
7. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
8. Top with drizzle of ketchup and mustard.
This was one of our favorite tater tot casseroles yet. It made a ton and we had not one bit leftover. The teenager raved about it as he came back for his third serving- and that never happens. This recipe is definitely going to be on regular rotation in our house.
